Clementine Cupcake Company - oh my darlin oh my darlin oh my darlin cupcakes!
About Us

Hi, my name is Sadie and I am the owner of Clementine Cupcake Company. I started Clementine Cupcakes for several reasons. First, I have a major sweet tooth and would bake a dozen cupcakes and eat them all by myself in two days! After gaining several pounds from this I thought I better start baking for other people and I could just sample one cupcake instead of eating the whole batch! Second, when my son Asher was having his first birthday party I just could not bring myself to buy something store bought. So, I made some cupcakes from scratch: no box mix, no frosting in a can but with the good old fashioned basics: flour, butter, eggs, sugar, vanilla etc. Everyone at his party loved the cupcakes and a friend asked me to make cupcakes for her daughter's birthday. Third, I am a stay at home mom now after working since age 14 (everything from fashion designer to wholesale mortgage executive) and wanted some sort of creative job to do while still taking care of my son. So, Clementine Cupcake Company was started and the rest as they say is history!

I am excited to announce that we are now an "award winning" cupcake company! My recipe for "Plain Jane Lets Loose" cupcakes recently won first place in an online cupcake contest hosted by Mixingbowl.com and was featured in the first issue of Mixing Bowl magazine in June 2009 AND I am also featured in the July 2009 issue of Better Homes and Gardens!!

Also, you can now find Clementine Cupcakes being featured exclusively at Amsterdam Coffee House in Paso Robles, CA. This is the only place you can find a Clementine Cupcake for individul puchase without having to do a special order of a dozen or more cupcakes. If you use Facebook look for the Clementine Cupcake Company page and become a fan to get updates on the company and the baking schedule for Amsterdam Coffee House.

Oh about the name: I chose Clementine because I have loved that name since I was little and sang the song "Oh my darling Clementine" in elementary school. When I was pregnant that was the name I chose for a girl but since I had a boy I still wanted to put the name to good use! Also the definition of a clementine (the smallest orange) is "small, sweet, and popular with kids" and I thought that definitely describes a cupcake as well.
